📱Explanation of device functionality

The SmartTag is a multifunctional and flexible real-time tracking solution. It can be integrated into any interlogistic process at box, pallet, container, truck or warehouse level. Integrated sensors measure temperature, humidity, vibrations, light, air pressure, and geo-position and send them to the cloud software via the mobile network.

Every SmartTag model can be used as a stand-alone real-time monitoring system. It works as a live logger. The SmartTag operates as the link to the Tec4Cloud System, offering full Internet-of-Things functionality via mobile connectivity worldwide.

We have two versions of the SmartTag: The single-use version (SmartTag S/SP/S Lite) can only be used once with a lifetime of up to one year. The multi-use version (SmartTag M/MP) can be recharged and used multiple times. For additional technical details regarding the SmartHub, please refer to our comprehensive Factsheet and Manual.

📃 Instructions for correct Hardware Installation Setting Up

To ensure a successful hardware installation during shipment, it is essential to verify that the SmartTag is fully prepared for data monitoring. Regardless of whether you are using a single-use or multi-use device, the SmartTag must be appropriately configured to record data. For detailed guidance, please refer to the article titled "How to Correctly Start Data Recording on SmartTag S/M." When shipping with liquid nitrogen tanks, it is imperative to immerse the probe in the fluid, ensuring that the flexible cable is positioned beneath the tank lid where the SmartTag is securely mounted.

In conjunction with hardware installation, it is crucial to accurately maintain essential shipping information within the Tec4Cloud, including the shipment's start date. This allows for real-time monitoring of your shipment directly through the system. Additionally, be sure to specify any other relevant parameters in the Tec4Cloud that may affect the shipment with a SmartTag, such as the start delay function. This feature enables you to define a specific time period after which an alert will be triggered for the first time. Therefore, after correctly initiating the SmartTag and placing it in the cold liquid nitrogen tank, the alert will not be activated immediately; instead, it will trigger after the designated period when the SmartTag measures the tank's liquid temperature.

💻 Hardware in the Tec4Cloud

To facilitate efficient shipment monitoring with the SmartTag, which tracks parameters such as temperature, humidity, light, acceleration, and tilt, it is advisable to create a shipment within the Tec4Cloud. After initiating the shipment, you can define its start either by specifying a date and time or by using an address (geofence) to track when the shipment leaves a designated radius. The route of the shipment will be immediately visible in the Cloud.

While it is not mandatory to set a due date, you have the flexibility to leave it open and manually stop the shipment in the Cloud. Alternatively, you can establish a geofence; upon arrival at the destination, the shipment will automatically conclude.

Additionally, you have the option to create a public link for external sharing, allowing customers to view the shipment's route. Please note that downloading reports is only possible after the shipment has been completed.

Please follow these steps to set up a shipment in Tec4Cloud:

  1. Name and define your shipment in the Tec4Cloud.

    • Select your preferred alert thresholds from the predefined settings and provide additional information about the shipping.

  2. Integrate the appropriate SmartTag into your shipment within the Tec4Cloud.

  3. To create a shipment in Tec4Cloud, please follow the steps described in the interactive Tec4Cloud Tutorial.
    • The tutorials provide detailed, step-by-step explanations of each function in Tec4Cloud.
  4. Upon initiating the shipment, the data should become visible in the Tec4Cloud, contingent upon the transmission interval set for your SmartTag. For instance, if the transmission interval is configured for 20 minutes, you can expect to see your data reflected in the system 20 minutes after the SmartTag has been correctly activated.
