How can the Beacons be read out?

Users have the flexibility to initiate manual data recording and retrieval at any time using the accompanying Tec4App. Alternatively, automated data recording and retrieval can be facilitated through a SmartHub gateway, with customizable intervals. The recorded data is then uploaded to the Tec4Cloud for convenient access and analysis.

The SmartHub receives Beacon data in two ways:

1) Via advertisements
The Beacons broadcast their current measurement data approximately once per second. When a SmartHub detects this signal, it forwards the data to Tec4Cloud, functioning as a gateway. As long as the SmartHub remains within sufficient proximity to the Beacon, this enables near real-time data transmission.

2) Via Beacon memory readout
Alternatively, a SmartHub can perform a full memory readout of a Beacon. This is particularly useful if a Beacon has been isolated for a period of time. For the memory readout, the SmartHub and Beacon must be in close proximity, much closer than required for receiving regular broadcasts. The devices establish a 2.4 GHz connection, which may take several seconds. The amount of data that can be retrieved depends on the specific SmartHub and Beacon versions.

The Tec4App is only able to do the Beacon memory readout.
